GALEN is a walnut wood plate that was hand turned on my lathe. The walnut wood was sustainably sourced here in Bourbon County, Kentucky. The contrast of the light sapwood against the dark heartwood make this plate a truly unique piece. A small sliver of inner bark is still visible on the edge of one side of the plate.

The plate measures 7-7/8″ in diameter and 15/16″ tall. The plate’s surface was polished with Terra Nova NaturOil which is food safe, FDA approved, kosher, environmentally friendly, non-toxic, free of dyes, perfumes, and nut oils that can cause allergic reactions, and protects against drying, cracking, and water damage. The NaturOil was followed by a coating of beeswax which is applied for added protection.
