Gaia

Cherry & Walnut | Bourbon County, KY

GAIA is a turned wooden box made from cherry wood with a walnut lid and cherry and spalted maple finial. All of the wood was responsibly sourced right here in Bourbon County, Kentucky. I put a lot of thought into designing this piece, and influences from some of my more contemporary bowl designs are evident in its lid and overall silhouette.

With the lid, this turned wooden box measures 6-3/4″ wide by 5-3/8″ tall. Without the lid, the bowl on its own measures approximately 5-3/8″ wide, 2″ tall, and 1-1/2″ deep. I finished the wood with Yorkshire Grit & Hampshire sheen polish to enhance its natural color, grain, and tone.
