Dinara

Spalted Rainbow Tulip Poplar | Franklin County, KY

DINARA is a shallow wood bowl that I hand turned on my lathe from spalted rainbow tulip poplar wood responsibly sourced in nearby Franklin County, Kentucky.

If you look around in my gallery, you’ll see I enjoy playing with form, and this piece is no exception. Combined with the uniqueness the wood, it’s what makes each of my pieces one-of-a-kind.

This shallow wood bowl measures approximately 11-5/8″ wide, 2-1/8″ tall, and 1-5/8″ deep and was polished with food safe walnut oil wax with a blend of beeswax and carnauba wax to provide a durable finish and rich luster. Worm holes are visible in the wood and any naturally occurring cracks and knots have been reinforced.
